With summer officially starting tomorrow, Indiana Borough Police would like to remind residents about the use of fireworks within Indiana Borough.
In a Facebook post, officers say that through state law and Indiana Borough Code 275-2, loud, disturbing and unnecessary noises are prohibited. In addition, it is unlawful to make, continue or cause any loud, unnecessary or unusual noise that either annoys, disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort and peace within Borough limits.
Other reminders include: anyone 18 years or older that meets requirements mentioned can purchase, possess or use consumer fireworks, and a person may not intentionally ignite or discharge fireworks without the express permission of property owners, while under the influence of drugs or alcohol or within 150 feet of an occupied structure.
More information can be found within the post on the Indiana Borough Police’s Facebook page.
