UPDATE:
More details have come in concerning a fire at a home in Rossiter early this morning.
As we reported, crews from Rossiter, Glenn Campbell, Marion Center and Commodore along with three fire companies from Punxsutawney and one from Big Run were called out at 1:40 this morning by Indiana County 911. The fire was at the home of Katrina Clifton at 34 Upper Clinton Street in Rossiter Borough, Canoe Township. A neighbor had called the fire in due to heavy smoke coming from the home. By the time firefighters got to the scene, the home was fully involved.
State Police say the home is a total loss due to severe fire damage. They also say at this time that the occupants were away from the home for the holiday weekend. State Police Fire Marshals say the fire started in the master bedroom on the second floor, but the cause is still under investigation. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $100,000, and it’s not known at this time if there was insurance on the house.

Few details are known at this time about a structure fire in the Rossiter area early this morning.
We know the fire was at a building on 60 Upper Clinton Street in Rossiter in Canoe Township. Crews from Rossiter, Marion Center, Commodore and Glenn Campbell, along with three fire departments from the Punxsutawney area were called at 1:34 this morning along with Jefferson County EMS.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time, and it’s not known if anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire. As soon as more details come in, we will pass them along to you.
