A state police fire marshal will investigate a fire last night that caused severe damage to a house in the 700 block of Wayne Avenue in Indiana. Firefighters from Indiana, Homer City, and Clymer were summoned at 11:20 PM.
Indiana Fire Chief Scott Schuller described the scene at 773-775 Wayne Avenue to our Mark Bertig.

The home is a wood-frame structure covered in white vinyl siding. The heat of the blaze caused the siding on a neighboring home just a few feet away to melt, and firefighters sprayed it down to prevent more damage.
The fire crews remained on the scene well into the early morning hours. Meanwhile, police used roadblocks to cut off traffic into town via Wayne Avenue. Schuller did not speculate on the cause of the fire and said he would ask the fire marshal to investigate.
