The pain at the pump continues to be felt by many drivers across Indiana County, the state and the nation.
Triple-A reports that with the cost of crude oil still over $120 a barrel, the national average price is now $5.01 a gallon. It is an increase of ten cents over the last week and 56 cents over the last month. Last year, the national average was at $3.08 a gallon. Pennsylvania’s average as of this morning is $5.06 a gallon, an eight cent increase over last week and a 47-cent increase over the last month. Pennsylvania’s average was $3.17 a gallon last year at this time.
Indiana County’s average is $5.05 a gallon this morning. The lowest county-wide average in our region is Cambria County at $5.00 a gallon. Jefferson County is next highest with $5.03 a gallon, followed by Westmoreland and Clearfield Counties at $5.04 a gallon each. Armstrong comes in with the highest average in the region at $5.08 a gallon.
Cameron County has the lowest county-wide average in the state at $4.98 a gallon, while Pike County had the highest average at $5.21 a gallon.
Gas prices in Indiana Borough and White Township range from $4.99 a gallon to $5.09 a gallon. Prices in Clymer, Homer City and Blairsville are $4.99 a gallon, according to Gasbuddy.com
