On Monday night, the Indiana School Board once again passed a budget for the next school year that does not include a tax increase for district residents.
The budget for the 2022-23 school year comes to $61,368,925, with taxes remaining at 15.36 mils. Board Vice President Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro said it has been at least five years since the last tax increase, but she added that the district must continue to be the good financial stewards they have been over the years.
The board also approved the homestead/farmstead resolution in connection with the budget. Program participants will see a $50 increase in credit for the 2022-23 year.
The board also approved a resolution authorizing the district administration to take on debt of up to $12 million for building projects in the district. The resolution gives the administration permission to seek bids for the bond issuance.
