The Coral-Graceton Fire Department has announced the recipients of the James “Posey” Flowers Memorial Scholarship.
On Friday, the department awarded scholarships to Nicole Aloise of Indiana and Shannon Campbell of Hollidaysburg after the annual Posey Memorial Golf Scramble held at Chestnut Ridge. The scholarship, administered by the fire department, gives the scholarships to students who are involved in emergency services and is meant to further their educations.
The scholarship is named for Flowers, who was a life member of the fire department, and was also an EMT, an EMT instructor, a member of the county HAZMAT team, a U.S. Army Veteran, and was also active with the Indiana County Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. The scholarship is funded primarily through the annual golf tournament and by private donations.
