The proposed Ben Franklin Elementary School Project will be on the agenda tonight for the White Township Planning Commission.
The Commission has been reviewing the plans for the last few months and at their meeting in March, the site plan was given preliminary approval pending some conditions being met. That included a traffic study from PennDOT on Ben Franklin Road, Township Manager Milt Lady said conceivably, final approval could be given to the project tonight. Lady said that more than likely, approval would be put off for another month to give proper attention to the traffic study.
In other news from the planning commission, it looks like the planned Applebee’s restaurant for Oakland Avenue near Aldi Foods may not happen after all. Lady says that the Panera Bread, which replaced the first choice Bob Evans, is still going in that area, and they are anticipating the construction permits to come in any day. Two restaurants were planned for that area, but there’s no word yet on what would replace Applebee’s.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7:30 at the White Township Offices.
