In Westmoreland County Court yesterday, a Saltsburg man was sentenced to twenty-to-forty years in state prison for the rape of a Delmont girl over the course of about five years beginning in 2011, when she was ten years old.
In May, a jury found 51-year-old Bryan Harrold guilty of thirteen felony offenses, two each for rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, and attempted rape of a child, plus one count of endangering the welfare of children.
Harrold has always claimed he is innocent, and that the then-17-year-old girl made up her story when she reported the assaults in 2016.
Judge Tim Krieger ruled that after Harrold has completed his sentence, he must register as a convicted sex offender for the rest of his life.
