Dorothy Virginia (Frye) Ranochock, 88, of Commodore, PA, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Rustic Manor Personal Care Home.
The daughter of George L. and Lessie (Rowe) Frye, she was born on September 21, 1930 in Washington Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
Dorothy married Joseph Francis Ranochock in 1948. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Clymer, PA. She was devout in her faith.
For almost twenty years, she worked as a custodian at the Purchase Line High School.
Two of her favorite pastimes were gardening and scrapbooking. Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed talking to everyone she met be they friends or strangers.
Dorothy is survived by her two children: Linda Rainey and husband, Kenneth of Hillsdale, PA and James J. Ranochock and girlfriend, Amy Marcoline of Indiana, PA; her six grandchildren: Lisa Vanveenendaal and husband, Gerry of Hollidaysburg, PA; Shelley Hilderbrant and husband, John of Rifle, CO; Julie Hewlett and husband, Dustin of York, SC; Joseph A. Ranochock and wife, Anita of Commodore, PA and Michael J. Ranochock and wife, Jennifer of Northern Cambria, PA; and Cheyenne Hritsko of Northern Cambria, PA; her 6 great-grandchildren: Ashley Vanveenendaal; Aedan Hewlett; Lexi Hewlett; Jack Hilderbrant; Juliella Ranochock and James Ranochock and her brother, William T. Frye and wife Geraldine of Marion Center, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings: Betty Beatty; Walter Frye and Gladys Gaston and her half siblings: Merle Allen; Marie Liscinsky and Hazel Staudt.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a 3:00 p.m. funeral service will be held with Pastor Ben Fitzgerald-Fye officiating. Interment will be at the St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Northern Cambria, PA.
