After suffering a stroke on May 13, Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate and current Lt. Gov. John Fetterman gave an update on his condition yesterday.
Fetterman said in a statement that he has not returned to the campaign trail as of yet, as he is following his doctor’s advice to rest and focus on his recovery. He said that he ignored warning signs five years after learning that he had a heart condition and that his cardiologist told him that he would have never suffered a stroke if he continued to take blood thinners. Fetterman adds that he has learned his lesson.
Fetterman recently underwent a procedure to have a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted in his heart, which was successful. He will shift his focus on opponent – former TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz, who will run as the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate race.
