The Homer-Center School Board met last night and passed their own resolution to not raise taxes above a state-mandated limit.
Like many other districts that have met this month, the Homer-Center School Board passed their Act 1 resolution that they would not raise taxes for district residents above a state-mandated limit, which for Homer-Center, is 3.3%. That creates a cap that will be the most the board will be able to raise taxes by, but board president Michael Bertig said that he wants to see no tax increases at all.

In other business, the board accepted the resignations of Len and Carol Black, who are both retiring from their respective positions in Homer Center as the head of maintenance, while Carol worked in the district office. The two have been a part of the district for over a combined 50 years.
