The firm hired by the State System of Higher Education to perform a strategic review of the state owned universities has launched a website to allow people to follow the progress of the review and to offer thoughts on the study.
The National Center for Higher Education Management Systems was hired last month to perform the study of the 14-state-owned universities and the office of the chancellor, and meetings have already been held with several stakeholder groups with more progress to come as the study will run through the summer. The new website will provide periodic updates on the review, and it will offer members of the public a chance to make their voices heard on the review.
The strategic review is being done as the State System faces a $79 million deficit this year and declining enrollment over the last seven years. Areas of concern include program offerings, infrastructure, spending, and enrollment.
