It was an easy win for the women and a nail-biter for the men as the IUP basketball teams swept a doubleheader from East Stroudsburg last night.
The women won, 84-62 as Carolyn Appleby scored 25 points and Lauren Wolosik scored 19. Brittany Robinson scored 12 and pulled down 10 rebounds. The men won, 98-97 in overtime as Dante Lombardi scored a career-high 33 points, including a record-tying eight three-pointers. Cobo Diaz poured in 28 for IUP.
IUP’s men remain tied with Slippery Rock for the top spot in the PSAC West. The IUP women are one game up on California.
The number one-ranked women and 5th-ranked men return to action Saturday at the KCAC against Edinboro.
