The Center Township Supervisors approved naming a new emergency management coordinator and two assistants at last night’s meeting.
The new coordinator was needed as Harold Lockard stepped down from the Center, Armstrong, Shelocta and Homer City, or CASH, board. To take his place, the Center Township Supervisors approved Joe Izzei, Sr. as the new coordinator, and Justin Smyers and Terry Gardner as assistant coordinators. Supervisors Chairman John Bertolino said that the two assistant coordinators will learn a lot from Izzei’s experience, and when Izzei leaves, there will still be two coordinators in place.
In other business, it was announced that the Sheetz Liquor License Hearing was postponed. The new date for the hearing is May 15th at 8:30 AM in Courtroom 2 of the Indiana County Courthouse. The postponement came at the request of Judge Thomas Bianco.
The supervisors also accepted bids for stone and trucking services from Davis Trucking for a majority of their stone needs, and Force Incorporated to haul black ash from the power plant and stone from Derry Stone.
