Indiana Borough police have announced the arrest of a Pike County man who’s accused of having seven pounds of marijuana shipped to an address in the 500 block of Shryock Avenue. That’s a lot of pot, which is typically sold on the street by the eighth-ounce.
21-year-old Ismail Bitik of Bushkill, PA was taken into custody on March 24th, after police and a U.S. Postal Service inspector the day before had located the marijuana inside the home. Police don’t say from where the marijuana was mailed or if there are others involved.
Bitik is charged with possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to the same offense, and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He’s free on $15,000 unsecured bond, with a preliminary hearing set for April 10th before District Judge Susanne Steffee.
