Search efforts last night for a person lost in Burrell Township were successful as the person was found safe and sound.
Indiana County 911 dispatched Blairsville and Black Lick volunteer fire departments and Blairsville police at 1:54 this morning for a search detail in the area of Wilkison Alley in Blairsville Borough. Black Lick fire officials say that 911 had received a call from a kayaker who was lost somewhere between Strangford and WyoTech Field. Crews searched along the river on foot, and a drone search team was also dispatched.
The missing person was eventually found in the woods east of WyoTech Field. He was taken to safety at that point.
