The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Bryan Rust to a six-year contract extension. This will keep him a Penguin through the 2027-28 season and is worth $30.75 million total.
Rust was in the final year of a four-year agreement, and had a 58-point year with 24 goals and 34 assists in only 60 games. He primarily played on the top line with Crosby or Malkin. Had Rust not re-signed, he would have been an unrestricted free agent.
