PITT football coach Pat Narduzzi will be without his star wide receiver this season after reigning Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison announced that he is transferring to USC yesterday afternoon.
Addison’s decision to transfer is surrounded by controversy as it is rumored that USC offered him a Name-Image-Likeness (NIL) deal that includes payouts of more than $3 million.
ESPN reports that Narduzzi has had multiple multiple stern calls with USC head coach Lincoln Riley after initial rumors of Addison’s transfer first surfaced, however no known evidence of tampering has been revealed.
Addison said in a tweet that a part of him “will always be H2P,” and that he will always be grateful to PITT, Narduzzi, his coaches – both past and present – faculty members, fans and supporters, but he especially thanks his teammates and cites that winning the ACC championship “is ours forever.”
PITT will start its 2022 season Sept. 1 in the Backyard Brawl against West Virginia.
