On Thursday night, the Homer-Center School Board heard an update on the Homer City Community Pool and some repairs that will need to be made.
During the report from the Homer-Center Parks and Recreation Commission, Michael Schmidt informed the board that the community pool liner needs replacing at an estimated cost of $100,000, and when the liner is pulled out, there may be some concrete repairs that will need to be made, which is estimated to cost another $100,000. Schmidt said that the cost would be a big hit towards the budget.
Schmidt said it is not a major problem that would require the pool to remain closed, nor is it a problem that would make it unsafe for anyone to use the pool.
In other business, the board hired Beth Cutshall as the new Volleyball Coach for next year. The board also accepted the resignation of board member Joe Izzei, Jr. The board also approved bringing former board member James McLoughlin to fill the vacancy on the board.
