Judge Thomas Bianco last week granted a defense motion to push the Criminal Call listing for 21-year-old Joseph Popovich from April 7th to June 2nd. The judge also has scheduled a hearing for an omnibus pretrial motion filed by Popovich’s attorney.
Popovich, who’s from Homer City, is charged with homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while DUI, accidents involving death or injury, and related offenses in the death last May of 16-year-old Homer Center High School student Kai Hrabovsky, who was struck and killed while walking along a rural road in Cherryhill Township.
An omnibus pretrial motions relief can be filed for a number of reasons, including suppression of evidence, to dismiss information, or to appoint an investigator. Judge Bianco will conduct the hearing on the motion on April 27th.
No trial date has been set for Popovich.
