Former President Donald Trump has announced he is backing State Senator Doug Mastriano in his bid to become Governor.
Reports say that Mastriano was already leading a very crowded field of candidates, but some party leaders say that he is “too extreme” to beat the presumed democratic candidate, Josh Shapiro, in the general election in the fall. There are eight other candidates on the Republican Ballot in Tuesday’s Primary, but Jake Corman recently announced that he is backing out of the race and putting his support behind Congressman Lou Barletta.
The primary election is this Tuesday.
