The Pirates made multiple roster moves this afternoon, one saw a new face join the team.
The team announced that they recalled infielder Rodolfo Castro from Class AAA Indianapolis and optioned utility player Cole Tucker. Castro has a .250 average with the Indians with five home runs and eight RBI.
Tucker is having a miserable season with the Pirates, hitting just .175 through 18 games with 25 strikeouts.
The Pirates also announced that they claimed RHP Tyler Beede off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.
Beede, 28, has a 0-0 record with a 4.66 ERA in 9.2 innings with the Giants this season and was a former first-round pick out of Vanderbilt in 2014.
To make room for Beede, RHP Beau Sulser was designated for assisgnment.
