Indiana County’s district courts will be busy today with several preliminary hearings, including one for a man charged with inappropriately touching a girl.
Court documents show that 38-year-old Christopher Earl Dunn, Jr. of Blairsville will be in the District Judge Guy Haberl’s courtroom at 1:00 this afternoon. He is charged with two counts each of rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault without consent, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of a child, and indecent assault of someone under 13, all felonies. Indiana Borough Police arrested Dunn in November of last year, with the offense having taken place on January 1st of 2020, according to court documents. Police say that he admitted to touching the victim while he was in a drunken state at a location in the 1000 block of Chestnut Street. His bail was originally $50,000, but was later increased to $100,000 after further charges were filed.
Also due for a preliminary hearing today is 32-year-old Michael Redd of Indiana. Redd faces a felony charge of arson, misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and simple assault, along with summary harassment for an incident on April 29th. Police said on that day that Redd kicked in a door at a home in the 1100 block of Nixon Avenue, assaulted a woman, and started a fire in the kitchen to follow through on a threat to burn the house down. When police arrived, he fled the scene but was picked up a few minutes later. His preliminary hearing is due before District Judge Robert Bell at 11:15 this morning.
