BASEBALL
United held off a 7th-inning rally and beat Homer-Center, 3-2, yesterday to clinch the Heritage Conference West and qualify for the conference championship game next week. Ben Tomb went five-and-a-third innings for the Lions, giving up no runs on three hits and striking out 11. Wade Plowman doubled and Aidan Strong tripled for United. Owen Saiani threw well for Homer-Center, going six innings and giving up three runs on five hits, while striking out three. Braden Dunn was 3-for-4 with a double for Homer-Center.
Homer-Center will play twice today, at 4 o’clock at Penns Manor and at 7:30 at home against Cambria Heights.
Ahead of their showdown game this afternoon against Marion Center, Northern Cambria dropped a non-conference game to St. Joseph’s Academy, 6-4.
Purchase Line dropped a doubleheader to Harmony, 5-4 and 12-1.
SOFTBALL
River Valley trimmed Northern Cambria, 8-7. Brin Gardner was 3-for-4, Hannah Artley was 2-for-3 and Tori Foust was 2-for-4 with a 3-run home run in the 7th. Hannah Foust struck out 11 batters and also drove in two runs.
Marion Center rocked Derry, 12-2.
Purchase Line clobbered Harmony in both games of a doubleheader, 20-5 and 19-4.
LACROSSE
The Indiana girls lacrosse team defeated Freeport 19-5 on senior salute night. Senior Kennedi Kunkle scored 6 goals and had 3 assists. Gianna Brody had 5 goals, and Kyla Weaver had 3. Kayla Leon, Tess Kuzneski, Brynlee Schawl, Lucia Clark, Caroline Albert and Addie Lockard each scored a goal. Mia Ciocca picked up 4 ground balls on defense. Anna Buterbaugh had 5 saves and Ava Thomas had 4 saves while sharing duties in goal.
Indiana raises its record to 12-1.
TRACK & FIELD 
Cambria Heights won the boys title and Marion Center took the girls title yesterday at the Heritage Conference track & field championship meet at United.
Northern Cambria and Marion Center were second and third, respectively, for the boys. For the girls, River Valley was second and Cambria Heights third.

INDIANA JR. HIGH SCHOOL
The Indiana Junior High track teams traveled to Franklin Regional yesterday. The girls won, 76-47, and the boys lost, 69-54.
From IASD Athletics:
Addy Fry picked up individual wins in the 400 meters and 800 meters and also ran on the winning 4×800 meter relay team with Laken Kugler, Jocelyn Higbee and Maddy Bauer. Fry also ran on the winning 4×400 meter relay team with Higbee, Emily Ferraro and Sophie Scardina. Addison Porter picked up two wins in the long jump and triple jump. Kaylee Onder won the 1600 meters, Addy Hutton won the high jump, Jayla Peterson won the shot out and Sara Fisher won the discus. The girls raised their record to 4-1.
The boys team fell to Franklin Regional 69-54. Levi Porter won the 100 meters, high jump, long jump and triple jump. Jack Lehman picked up wins the shot put and discus and Jackson Albert won the 400 meters. The boys record is 3-2.
The teams travel to the WAADA Championship meet at Latrobe on Saturday.
