Another important election deadline is approaching tomorrow.
The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot for the upcoming primary election is tomorrow, May 10th. The application must be in by 5 PM on Tuesday. One way someone can apply for the mail-in ballot is to head over to the County Commissioners’ office at the Indiana County Elections office. The other is to apply online at votesPA.gov, which is being seen as the preferred option at this point. Once those who applied receive their mail-in ballot, Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman recommends that the ballot be filled out and returned as soon as possible.
Mail in ballots must be returned to the county election office by 8:00 PM on the day of the Primary, and those postmarked by that time will not count. The ballots can also be returned by the voters to the county election office.
