State police have arrested and charged a York man for a string of access device fraud cases in Indiana County. Police say that Robert Jerome Sexton of York used multiple fraudulent bank cards and bank numbers from various victims’ bank cards and used the stolen information to make several purchases. Police identified Sexton was involved in at least five different cases. He faces multiple counts of felony forgery, access device fraud, identity theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property. All the charges were filed with District Judge Susuanne Steffee.
A Shelocta woman is accused of stealing medicine from four nursing home residents. State police say between November 24th and 25th, 22-year-old Kaitlyn Johnston of Shelocta stole nine pills from residents at Bethany Place valued around $90. A criminal complaint was filed and a preliminary hearing is pending.
State Police fire marshals say that the cause of a fire on November 10th in West Wheatfield Township is undetermined at this time. The fire was reported at 4:24 in the morning at Young’s Sandblasting in West Wheatfield Township. Fire marshals say the structure and contents were a complete loss. No injuries reported in a crash on Wherum Road in East Wheatfield Township. State police say 19-year-old Rose Gratosky of Homer City was driving south on Wherum road when the car went off the west side of the road for an unknown reason. The car struck a ditch and then rolled onto the passenger side. Both Gratosky and her passenger, 16-year-old Sarah Lopez were wearing their seatbelts and reported no injuries. The 2012 Chevy Sonic had to be towed.
