IUP has released details of Saturday’s commencement ceremonies.
753 students will graduate in two ceremonies. 218 master’s degrees and 38 doctoral degrees will be conferred in a 9:30 AM program at Fisher Auditorium. 493 bachelor’s degrees – 197 of them with Latin honors signifying a grade point average of 3.25 or higher- will be awarded, along with four associate degrees in a ceremony scheduled for 1 PM at the Kovalchick Complex. Students completing their degrees this month and next are eligible to participate in the commencement.
The keynote speaker at both ceremonies will be this year’s IUP Distinguished University Professor, biology professor Dr. Jeffrey Larkin.
The student speakers will be Colin Browne for the graduate degree ceremony. He’s completing his doctorate of philosophy degree in safety sciences. Maria Newton, who will receive her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and international business management, will speak at the undergraduate program.
