The Pirates were rained out yesterday in Detroit and will make up the game today as part of a doubleheader. The first pitch for game one is scheduled at 1:10, with Bryse Wilson pitching for the Pirates against the Tigers’ Michael Pineda. Game two follows with the Bucs’ Jose Quintana against Tarik Skubal. Pregame begins on WCCS at 12:45.
Reliever Anthony Banda rejoined the active roster yesterday after a bout with pneumonia. Outfielder Anthony Alford’s time with the Pirates organization ended yesterday when he opted for free agency after being designated for assignment last week.

Altoona snapped their four-game losing streak with a 5-2 rain-shortened six-inning game at Erie. Liover Peguero continued to dominate Eastern League pitching with two more hits, including a triple, and two RBIs. Peguero leads the Eastern League in hits, batting average (.355), RBIs, doubles, and extra-base hits. Game two of the series is tonight in Erie with Luis Ortiz starting for the Curve.
