PSP-KITTANNING
State police have charged three people with disorderly conduct reported during a five-hour standoff with police in Cowanshannock Township. Police say that three Rural Valley men between the ages of 40 and 66 entered a containment zone during the active situation between police and Shane Powers of Rural Valley. The three, who were not identified by name, refused to leave until another officer came up. All three were cited through the district court.
A hit-and-run crash was reported on Monday at the West Shamokin High School complex. State Police from the Kittanning Barracks reports that an unknown vehicle was driving east on Route 85 in Cowanshannock Township when the vehicle turned onto Wolf Drive and hit a closed gate at the entrance to the West Shamokin High School. The vehicle backed up and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The suspect vehicle would have moderate to heavy damage to the front end of the vehicle. A canvass of the area did not turn up the vehicle or any cameras that would have helped. Anyone with information is asked to call state police.
