On Monday, the Center Township Supervisors announced the township received some grant money to help pay for some upcoming pipe and drain work.
The township received $57,359.30 in funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Dirt, Gravel and Low Volume Road grant. The money will go to a pipe and drain project on Johnson Road. Along with in-kind contributions of $31,607.80, the total project value comes to $88,967. Supervisors chairman Matthew Housholder said the project was a long time coming.
In other business, the supervisors opened bids for stone, fuel and pipe for the upcoming construction season. The bids will be examined further an the winning bids will be announced at the next meeting in June.
