An Indiana woman was found guilty yesterday in a jury trial on charges of aggravated assault while driving under the influence and related crimes.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced on Wednesday that a jury took a little over an hour to find 36-year-old Kristen Previte of Indiana guilty on the charges connected with a crash near the Indiana Senior High School on February 18th of 2020. According to the DA’s news release, Previte had both alcohol and an opioid-based drug in her system, and was speeding when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road. She sideswiped a vehicle that had a mother and daughter inside it before colliding head on with a GMC Yukon at the intersection of Clark and North 6th Streets. The person in the Yukon suffered a knee injury that required surgery two days after the crash.
The trial itself took three days. Previte’s sentencing is set for July 22nd at 8:30 AM.
