After a limited regional opening last week, Pennsylvania’s trout fishing begins across the rest of the commonwealth tomorrow, including in Indiana County. There should be plenty of fish to catch as the state has stocked our area streams with brook, brown, and rainbow trout.
If you’re looking for rainbow trout, they’ve been stocked at Blackleggs Creek at the mouth of Big Run, Cush Creek at the confluence with Horton Run, Yellow Creek in the area of the White Township/Cherryhill Township line, and at the lake at Blue Spruce Park.
Brooks and/or browns have been stocked at Brush Creek, Canoe Creek, three locations on the Little Mahoning Creek, Mudlick Run, the South Branch of Twolick Creek, and two locations on Yellow Creek .
You can check out specific locations and future stocking dates by county at the Fish and Boat Commission’s website, fbweb.pa.gov.
