James F. Bentley, Sr., age 87, of Indiana, formerly of Rochester
Mills, died Monday, September 17, 2018 at St. Andrew’s
Village.
He was born in 1931 in Glenshaw to Leonard L. Bentley, Sr.,
and Marie H. Jones Bentley.
Mr. Bentley was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church,
Indiana.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army.
James was employed as a tool and die maker for Fisher Scientific
in Homer City for 35 years, retiring in 1994.
Surviving are six children and a special cousin, Marie Walcroft
and husband James, Chalfont; Sue Ann Sebastian and husband
William, Sewickley; James Bentley, Jr. and wife Donna, Easton,
MD; Jeannie Yvonne Sabatine, Pittsburgh; Robert Bentley and
wife Cynthia, Indiana; Lori Renee Huffman and husband Mark,
Terra Haute, IN; Andrew Mitchell and wife Marg, Pittsburgh; a
sister-in-law Myrna Shernok, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; five
great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lillian Yvette
Bentley in 2009, and by three brothers, Leonard, Jr. and Gerald
Bentley, and Robert Himmelrick.
Graveside Military services will be performed at the National
Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville on October 19, 2018.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at
St. Andrew’s Village at 11 A.M. with the Rev. David Hanna
officiating.
The Bowser-Minich Funeral Home has been entrusted with
funeral arrangements.
