Altoona had to withstand a last inning flurry to beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8-7 at PNG Field last night.
In that top of the 9th inning Will Kobos walked two batters before getting the first out via a strike out of Will Robertson. Then a groundout hit by Stewart Berroa rang up the second out. Tanner Morris walked in a run, and that brought in Emmanuel Mejia. Spencer Horowitz then reached on a fielding error that scored two runs. After the bases were loaded again, Luis De Los Santos hit a groundball to Jared Triolo to end things.
The Curve scored early in the game with homers by Tucupita Marcano and Aaron Shackleford (a 2-run shot) as part of a four-run stretch in the second and third innings. The curve also had a four-run stretch in the 7th and 8th innings as well.
