Mildred Jane Tweed, 93, of Johnstown, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2018, at The Lutheran Home at Johnstown.
A daughter of the late Loy and Jane E. Dinwiddie Stephens, Sr., she was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Freeport.
Mrs. Tweed was a 1943 graduate of Freeport High School. She lived most of her life in Indiana, where she last worked as a part-time real estate agent with Janet P. Moreau Realty and a cashier clerk for numerous stores in Indiana. Mrs. Tweed was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star and attended the Indiana Senior Center. She was a den mother and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking. Mrs. Tweed was the strength of her family.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Eileen Tweed, of Johnstown; two brothers: Edward Stephens, of Sarver; and Ronald Stephens, of Natrona Heights; one grandson, Lawrence E. Tweed III, and wife Gwendolyn, of Kazakhstan, in Central Asia; one great-grandson, Lawrence E. Tweed IV, of Kazakhstan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Tweed, Sr., two sons: Gary L. Tweed and Lawrence Edwin Tweed, Jr.; a brother, Loy Stephens, Jr.; and two sisters: Dorothy Faith and Tess Meshanko.
Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown.
