James M. Kunkle, 80, of Creekside, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Communities at Indian Haven.
A son of the late Millard L. and Margaret Emma McGinnis Kunkle, he was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Creekside.
Mr. Kunkle attended Red Lion grade school and graduated from Marion Center High School. For 25 years, he lived in Alaska, where he worked as a warehouse manager in the oil field services. While in Alaska, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. After returning to Creekside, he still enjoyed hunting and fishing and raising his Belgian horses. Mr. Kunkle was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by two children: Janice M. Kunkle, of Creekside; and James L. Kunkle and wife Sheri, of Creekside; a brother, John P. Kunkle, of Creekside; two grandchildren: Jesse James Kunkle, Megan Lucille Robinson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte A. Fyock Kunkle; and a brother, Edward Kunkle.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Benjamin S. Blowers officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, is in charge of arrangements.
