John Greczek, 93 of Indiana, died Thursday, May 10th, 2018 at the Communities at Indian Haven. Born in Huron, PA on April 28th, 1925, he was the son of the late John M. Greczek and Angela (Harkelli) Greczek. He was the widower of Dorothy (Maynosz) Greczek who died in 1982.
John was a World War II veteran who served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a lineman in the army working with telephones and telegraphs.
For many years, John was the manager of National Beer Sales in Indiana. He enjoyed watching sporting events and playing cards. Especially when he played with his granddaughter, Tina.
He was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church.
John is survived by his two sons: Rodney J. Greczek (Linda), Homer City and Erick J. Greczek (Ann), Indiana. Other survivors include his granddaughter, Cjristina Nellis (Eli), Pittsburgh and the following siblings: Stanley Greczek, Coral; Kay Henry, Latrobe; and Agnes Jean Bertig, Pittsburgh.
In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings: Joseph, Frank and Mary Greczek and Ann Weelen.
Private service arrangements are arranged with the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. Burial will be made at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
