Mary Beth Rightnour, 64, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Indiana Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in 1953 in Lilly, the daughter of the late Regis and Frances (Costantino) Tremel.
On May 29, 1974, she married Thomas Rightnour.
Surviving are her husband, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage; two brothers: Frank (Mary) Tremel, Indiana, and Regis (Patricia) Tremel, Lilly; a sister, Janet (Frank) Schachtner, Altoona; two brothers-in-law: Robert (Mary Kay) Rightnour, Cresson, and David (Joan) Rightnour, Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law, Mary Alice (Rightnour) Lefebvre, Foxboro, Mass.; five nieces, four nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Michael Tremel; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Lefebvre.
Mary Beth graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1971. She graduated with honors from Altoona Hospital School of Nursing in 1974 and she received her Bachelor of Sciencedegree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She began her nursing career as a pediatric nurse at Altoona Hospital and then as an emergency room nurse at Indiana Hospital. She was employed by Rose Medical Associates, Internal Medicine Practice, for over 30 years. Mary Beth was an exceptional and dedicated nurse who truly cared about every one of her patients.
She enjoyed golfing with her husband, cooking and walks with her golden retriever, Gracie.
Mary Beth was a longtime member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church.
Mary Beth was a great wife, sister, daughter, aunt, friend and nurse, and she will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, Indiana. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
