David Zinza, 69, of Burnside, PA died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Family Hospice Palliative Care in Pittsburgh, PA.
The son of the late William “Chuck” and Irene (Vorobok) Zinza, he was born on November 21, 1948 in Spangler, PA.
David earned an associate degree in drafting.
He wed Kathleen J. Shimko on August 20, 1977 and they shared over forty years of marriage.
David was the self-employed owner/operator of his truck and had worked for many years as a truck driver with Butler Trucking.
Known as a very social fellow, he derived great enjoyment from chatting with people wherever he went. He was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan, who also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguins.
David was an avid reader and an accomplished accordion player, who had spent time playing in a polka band.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Zinza of Burnside, PA; his daughter, Jennifer Wilkinson and husband, Randy of Wilmore, PA; his son, Matthew Zinza of New Bethlehem, PA and his two grandchildren: Brady and Cayley Wilkinson.
David was preceded in death by his father on December 22, 2002; his mother on February 3, 2005 and his two sisters: Charlene Zinza on February 13, 1945 and Dolores “Dolly” Zinza on June 5, 2004.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Interment will follow at the Burnside Cemetery in Burnside, PA.
