Stella Ann Aites, 70, of Homer City, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of Ralph Merle Duncan and Sophie Katherine Kondrachuk Duncan, she was born Feb. 26, 1948, in Indiana.
Mrs. Aites was a graduate of Laura Lamar High School and attended Duff’s Business School. She retired from Indiana County Day Care, where she was a caregiver and a teacher’s aide. Mrs. Aites attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Homer City and the Cornerstone Worship Center. She was involved in the Awana Church youth group and enjoyed crocheting. Mrs. Aites loved her God, her pets and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her father, Ralph M. Duncan, of Houtzdale, stepmother, Katherine Duncan, of Homer City; her daughter, Kelly M. Heckman and her husband Charles, of Homer City; four brothers: Roger L. Duncan, of Charlotte, NC.; Daniel L. Duncan and wife Susie, of Homer City; Nathan P. Duncan, of Homer City; and Larry McKendrick, of Seward; a grandchild, Charles “C.D.” Heckman, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sophie K. Kondrachuk Duncan; her husband, Emmett Dale Aites; her stepmother, Elizabeth “Betty” Duncan; her grandparents: Leslie Brooks and Elizabeth Duncan; and George and Stella Kondrachuk.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., with Pastor Paul A. Price officiating. Interment will be in Coral Luther Chapel Cemetery.
