Helen M. (Kaminsky) Fayak, 91, of Commodore, PA died Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna, OH.
The daughter of John and Annie (Sperick) Kaminsky, she was born on February 1, 1927 in Susquehanna Twp., Cambria County, PA.
A devoted Catholic, Helen was a member of the Church of the Resurrection parish. She was previously a member of the former St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Starford, PA, where she wed her husband, Andrew J. “Andy” “Peanuts” Fayak on February 28, 1943. Helen and Andy had shared fifty-nine years of marriage when he passed away on April 20, 2002.
In her spare time, Helen delighted playing bingo; crocheting and making pierogies with her family.
She loved bling; pansies and African violets. She enjoyed driving in the little red convertible Thunderbird sports car with her friend, John.
Helen gave the best baths to her grand babies and always blew them kisses from the porch
She is survived by her daughter, Anna L. Goodlin of Ravenna, OH; her four granddaughters: Jane Lupean and husband, Bob of Brimfield, OH; Kelly Cornett and husband, Steve of Brimfield, OH; Heather Niebauer and husband, Matt of Ebensburg, PA and Jill Fayak of Ebensburg, PA; her grandchildren: Alaina Lupean; Jared Cornett and wife, Miranda; Annaliese, Burke and Ardenne Niebauer; Ian and Kylie Anderson and Colin; Jacob and Blaise Fayak.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Paul “Pete” A. Fayak on February 7, 2017; son-in-law, William “Bill” Goodlin on December 26, 2016 and her best friend, John Yanoski.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a 1:00 p.m. funeral service will take place on Thursday afternoon immediately following the visitation. Fr. Anthony J. Klimko will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Starford, PA.
