The Indiana Area School Board will hold a special meeting tonight with a limited agenda, but as usual, there will be consideration of motions related to the proposed elementary school plan.
The board will consider a motion by Tamara Leeper to contact five to ten schools that have had recent construction projects to gather their views on the pros and cons of their new buildings. The board will also reconsider a tabled motion to direct the administration to mail district residents the results of a January 30th Outreach Committee question-and-answer meeting. The mailing would be paid for from unspent funds from this year’s budget.
Tonight’s agenda also calls for consideration of a four-year extension of the contract with Source4Teachers, a company that provides substitute teachers for school districts across the nation. The deal would include an average annual increase of .75 percent. There are also motions related to fuel costs for transporting students, and revisions to the school calendar for Act 80 days at the Ben Franklin and East Pike schools.
