Isabelle Rose (Toth) Carmo, 96, passed into the loving arms of her Lord on March 14, 2018.
She was born in Argentine, PA, to her parents Frank Toth and Barbara (Stoko) Toth on October 30, 1921. She married the late Renzo George Carmo on September 24, 1947, and had two children, Beverly and Gary. Before her marriage she worked as a telephone switchboard operator in Blairsville and then worked in a supply office at a military manufacturing plant in Mechanicsburg, PA, during the Second World War. She lived a life full of love and laughter, making memories with all who knew and loved her. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who made lifelong friends easily and enjoyed many activities from bowling to golf, and especially playing cards with her friends and making ravioli for her grandchildren. She was a member of the SS. Simon and Jude Church, 55 and Over Club. She was also a member of the Blairsville Historical Society and had belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Blairsville Italian Club. For the past seven years “Izzy” resided at Paramount Senior Living in Pittsburgh where she became a favorite with the staff and other residents because of her kindness and humor.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Isabelle is survived by her daughter, Beverly Carmo, Pittsburgh, PA, son, Gary & wife, Gretchen, Odenton, MD, grandson Steven Carmo, granddaughter Jennifer Carmo Taylor and her husband James, great-grandson Chase, and her sister Margaret (Toth) Maccioli. She was preceded in death by her husband Renzo George Carmo in 2007, her parents, sisters Mary Toth and Bertha Miller, and brothers Frank, Louis, and Stephen.
Arrangements will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home in Blairsville. Viewing will be from 2-4 and 6-8, Friday, March 23, 2018. A wake service will be held in the funeral home Friday afternoon at 3:30 PM. Prayers of transfer will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 9:15 AM, prior to a funeral mass in SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville, PA at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Blairsville, Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
