Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi has announced the sentencing results of two cases from late last week.
The DA says 40-year-old Ervin Lopez-Ramirez was ordered to serve 3-6 years in state prison along with paying fines and restitution for a case that dates back to April of this year. Police said on that day, Lopez-Ramirez hit someone with his truck that he reportedly had a disagreement with and pinned them against a farm tractor and his truck. The collision pushed both vehicles into the side of a building, causing some damage. Police said that he was heavily intoxicated at the time. In August, Lopez-Ramirez entered a guilty plea to a felony charge of aggravated assault.
The other case involved 62-year-old Mary Stuller of Clarksburg. Police said on August 3rd , state troopers were sent to a home in Clarksburg for a welfare check when they found a woman on the floor with blood on her head. Authorities said that Stuller got into a fight with the victim, then hit her in the head with a glass pitcher and stabbed her multiple times. Stuller was ordered to serve three to 15 years in state prison for her guilty plea to a charge of felony aggravated assault.
