Two loads for the Homer City Energy Campus will hit the road today.
One will pick up right where it stopped last night near Blairsville as the super load will start out at 9:00 from its stopping place near Route 119 and head to Campbell’s Mill Road, then to Black Lick Road and entering the Homer City Generation site on Power Plant Road. That run starts at 9:00 and is expected to wrap up at noon. During that time, there will be a temporary closure of Campbells Mill Road near Route 119.
The other transport will start at the Schenley Docks in Armstrong County and take the normal route through Armstrong, Westmoreland and Indiana Counties before pulling off near the border on Route 22. After the installation of some equipment, the convoy will make its way to the overnight stop off point on Route 119. A temporary closure of Route 22 Eastbound from three miles west of Blairsville to Route 119 will be needed to accommodate the transport’s arrival at the staging area. That run is expected to finish Saturday morning.
Edwards Moving and Rigging reminds everyone to expect delays during transport activity, use caution, and allow additional travel time and room along the routes.
