Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council discussed the 2027 budget, and borough manager Nicole Sipos presented them with a draft of the budget that includes a slight tax increase.
The draft general fund budget presented by Sipos would have an increase of .4 mils, which would cover contractual increases and increase in workman’s comp insurance costs. She said that this will also keep the reserve fund level for emergencies and for matching grants. Sipos said it is not as big an impact for taxpayers as in previous years.
The draft budget will go up for advertisement at the council’s work session on November 17th.
In other business, council approved an application for a grant for the Waste Water Treatment Plant. The borough will apply for $6175 Local Share Account grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority and will go towards a pump for the facility.
