A Pittsburgh-area pet crematory director who reportedly conned pet owners out of thousands of dollars is headed to jail.
Patrick Vereb has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a case in which prosecutors say he accepted payments from over six-thousand pet owners for cremation services. Instead of providing those service, investigators say he dumped the animals’ bodies in landfills. Sentencing on the convictions is scheduled for January, though Vereb was ordered held yesterday until then after having reportedly violated terms of his bond.
