One major part of IUP’s Homecoming Weekend is the parade through Downtown Indiana.
The parade will take its normal route down Philadelphia Street from 11th to sixth, then turn south on sixth and head to Church Street, then turn off of Church to Oakland Avenue and continue on Oakland until the parade disbands at 11th Streets. All parade floats will continue Southwest on Oakland headed toward the Robertshaw building for tear down.
Parade Chairperson Betsy Sarneso said they have been working on this for months. This year’s theme is “America 250: Pennsylvania: Start Here, We Did!” and Sarneso said it’s not just a celebration of the semi quincentennial but also some of the things that came from Pennsylvania.
The parade will step off this morning at 10:00 AM. We’ll have liver parade coverage on Renda Digital TV starting at 9:45.
