Tuesday night, Homer City Borough Council appointed a new member of the planning commission.
Borough resident Ben Mitchell was selected and sworn in during the meeting. He was selected among two other candidates. Borough Manager Tonya Weller says the borough is excited to bring on young talent.
Council also approved the installation of weight limit signs on Oakland Avenue, Columbia Avenue and Center Street. Weller says that this is due to truck traffic headed to and from the town’s commercial district, and they’d like to be proactive rather than reactive when it comes to road maintenance.
In other business, council set Trick-or-Treat in the borough for Halloween Night, October 31st from 6-8 p.m..
