Indiana Borough Police have arrested a Carolltown man for charges of reckless endangerment, fleeing police and traffic-related crimes.
Police said on October 5th, officers saw two dirt bikes on Philadelphia Street without license plates or proper lighting at 9:40 AM. It was believed the two bikes were involved in a previous attempt to elude police. The officers tried to pull the bikes over, but the two fled through several borough streets. One bike eventually stopped in the area of South 7th Street where the rider, identified as 22-year-old Nicholas Barrett, was taken into custody without further incident, and the bike was seized.
Indiana Borough Police were assisted by IUP police in the incident. Bail was set at $16,000 unsecured at an arraignment hearing in front of District Judge Susanne Steffee. A preliminary hearing is set for October 27th.
